Addison is on a mission.

"For my mom, my brothers, my dad, and me," Addison said.

So is Adriannas Simpson.

"I didn't know I was going to do it," Adriannas said.

With just days left before Christmas, they need to get some gifts for their loved ones.

On Wednesday, more than 120 Huron County children got paired with one of the 60 heroes and got their Christmas shopping done at the Bad Axe Walmart.

Addison even got to wear a trooper hat. Her partner was Sgt. Brian McComb of the Michigan State Police.

"It's just a great time of year to do this," McComb said.

Each child spent between $75 and $150 to buy gifts to place under the tree.

"Kids always seem to be more concerned about their families than they are for themselves," said Bad Axe Police Officer Shawn Webber.

But the spirit of giving comes with a nice payback.

The kids also get a gift for themselves.

Webber teamed up with Patrick to fill the cart.

"Oh, it's great, I love coming out with the kids and helping them out. They're always fun to work with," Webber said.

And as the children check off their lists, because of the generosity of many, more Thumb kids will have a merry Christmas.

"Very heartwarming, seeing the children, and seeing them happy, being able to give them something for Christmas," said Brian Zuzga, Unionville Fire Department.

This was all possible thanks to many community donations, including a $5,000 donation from an anonymous donor.

"I like him," Adriannas said.

McComb said, "She was fantastic, I'd like to take her home with me. She's such a good shopper."
