Star Wars movie marathon gears fans up for 'The Force Awakens'

Posted: Updated:

Hundreds of people stood in line to take part in a 17 ½ hour Star Wars movie marathon.

Doors opened at 3 a.m. Thursday morning at NCG Trillium Theatre in Grand Blanc where the theatre was showing the first two trilogies leading up to the first showing of “The Force Awakens” Thursday night.

“I kind of dreamed of this, just doing nothing all day but watching Star Wars with my friends,” said Nathan Lark, a superfan who turned out for the event.

Lark and his friend Ethan Atwater got to skip school to be part of the excitement.

“I’ve been waiting for this. I’ve done good in school and my mom has allowed me and my best friend to hang out at the movies,” said Atwater.

While Lark and Atwater weren’t in costume, many people were.

“It was actually really cool. A lot of people did homemade things, some had really cool serious outfits. We had some people from the 501 regimen of stormtroopers show up which was pretty cool,” said Halle Fisher, supervisor at NCG Trillium.

The star wars marathon event sold out.
