Rainy Christmas doesn't stop holiday cheer

Posted: Updated:

No winter wonderland in Frankenmuth this Christmas.

Mother Nature has traded in the cold and snow for rain and record breaking warm temperatures.

"We were actually here in June and it was colder in June than it is right now," said Chris Utley.

Utley heads to Frankenmuth from Nashville every year for the holidays.

“Coming from Nashville to visit family in Michigan it's kind of nice and expected to play in the snow but not this time,” Utley said.

Outside in Frankenmuth on Dec. 23, it's green and wet.

But step inside of Bronner's and it begins to feel a lot more like Christmas.

“Christmas isn't all outside in the snow it's inside our hearts anyway, so if we keep that mentality Christmas is Christmas it's about family and friends and that's the most important part anyway,” said Andrew Bommarito.

Visiting Bronner's Christmas Wonderland is a yearly Christmas tradition for Bommarito

And his family.

“We let them pick out an ornament and then we have a tree full of ornaments from the last 10 years,” Bommarito said.

And while it won't be a white Christmas this year, Bommarito said his family is still in the holiday spirit.

"You know it would be nice to have snow actually on the day for Christmas but it's OK, we're all together as a family that's what means the most for us," Bommarito said.
