Plows are back in action after heavy snowfall

Posted: Updated:
SAGINAW COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

Brandon Arsenault drew the short straw Tuesday morning. He works at Draper Auto in Saginaw and was the one who had to plow the lot. “Got up about five this morning to get the lot cleared so we can get some customers in here to buy some cars,” said Arsenault.

But with the dense and wet snow, Arsenault said the routine task became even harder. “Heavy snow. So plowing it is like, over and over again. You just got to keep doing it.”

Not everyone hates to get up early to clear the snow, in fact some businesses rely on it.

“Yeah, it helps our business. It helps the guys, they need to get some income in the winter and it helps us pay the bills,” said Mark Kable of Kable Landscaping.

“It’s a love, hate thing. We ask for it, and when we get it we wonder what we were thinking.”

Kable said that even though this snowfall marks a late start to the snow season, it packed a punch.

“In 20 years I don’t think I’ve plowed this much sleet off parking lots. It’s kind of like moving concrete. It’s not very much fun.”
