A worried mother is wondering where her daughter is after she went missing months ago but now for the first time since she disappeared, there’s a glimmer of hope.

The last nine months have been torture for Charlena Poole. She hasn’t seen or heard from her teenage daughter and she’s worried she may be in trouble.

“My life is just ruined over this,” Poole said.

Rae-Showna Jones, 17, disappeared last December. She was last seen leaving the Curry Inn in Saginaw Township. Police said she doesn’t have a cellphone and there has been no activity on her social network sites since her disappearance.

“Is she out there, do she want to stay out there, or do somebody have her?” Poole wondered.

Poole is so desperate for answers, she started doing her own detective work. She said she was so aggressive, she even got herself arrested and charged for impersonating a police officer.

“I felt like it was my job, my job to look for my daughter,” Poole said.

The detective work led to a new clue – a picture of Rae-Showna captured by a surveillance camera just down the road from where she was last seen.

“Whatever it took, I was going to find. I wanted to see who my daughter was with or who she got into the car with,” Poole said.

Michigan State Police list Rae-Showna as a runaway but the detective on the case said he’s concerned there may be more to the case, possible something sinister, because there have been very few leads.

"I just pray to God that whoever she's around, they just bring her home, so she can be in safe hands,” Poole said.

Tuesday night, there was news of a possible breakthrough in the case – word that someone may have seen Rae-Showna at a hotel near Flint Bishop Airport.

"I just wish somebody would tell me where she's at, she doesn't have to come home, just let me know where's she's at, and if she wants to come home, bring her home,” Poole said.

The tipster told police Rae-Showna may be using a different name and may have dyed her hair purple.

Police did follow up on the lead but weren't able to come up with anything.

If you know where Rae-Showna Jones is call the police department at 989-753-7793 or call 911.
