Woman gets help from local business

Posted: Updated:

Betty Raasch has a tough time just standing long enough to talk to TV5. So shoveling out her driveway from snow is a real challenge. She has asthma, COPD, hyper-tension, and diabetes.

"I'm having a lot of health issues," Raasch said.

She reached out to the TV5 Shovel Squad in search of some assistance, hoping someone could come by her home and lend a helping hand.

"I just need help around here and I just can't do it," Raasch said.

In her own words, Raasch has had things tough lately. But we were able to give her a little bit of good news.

Pete Rivera owns Pete's Property Enhancement.

"If they need my help they know they can call me," Rivera said.

We told him about Raasch's situation and he said he wanted to help. During our live broadcast he cleared out Raasch's driveway.

"She poked her head out a couple of times and just waved at me and I heard her yell, thank you Pete! Thank you! You know and that makes me feel real good," Rivera said.

Providing a little relief for a woman who greatly appreciates it.

"Oh my god, I don't believe you did this for me. I wish there was more people like you. You deserve it," Raasch said.
