VASSAR TOWNSHIP, MI (WNEM) -

Three people were injured after a head-on collision on Wednesday.

The accident happened on M-15 near Rupprecht Road in Vassar Township about 6:20 p.m.

Witnesses told police a 32-year-old Bay City woman was driving southbound on M-15 without headlights on. She crossed into the northbound lane.

A 36-year-old Reese woman was traveling northbound and tried to avoid the oncoming driver. The 36-year-old swerved into the southbound lane at the same time as the 32-year-old woman, police said.

They crashed head on.

The Bay City woman was transported to Covenant Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

The Reese woman and her toddler son, who was a passenger in the vehicle, were also transported to Covenant for non-life threatening injuries, police said.

Police believe the Bay City woman may have been under the influence of alcohol.

The accident remains under investigation.
