Stolen candy dispenser recovered at boat launch

Posted: Updated:
BAY CITY, MI (WNEM) -

It was a chilly dip into the icy waters near the Cass Boat launch for local officers who recovered a coin operated candy dispenser.

Lieutenant Todd Shorkey, Engineer Ken Skunda and Officer Eric Sporman with the Bay City Department of Public Safety pulled the remains of the candy dispenser from the ice this morning.

It’s believed the machine was stolen from a local business, but it’s not clear which one.

The glass was broken out so thieves could take the money and candy inside, and the rest was thrown out onto the ice.

If you have any information, call the Bay City Department of Public Safety 892-5900.
