DETROIT (WNEM) -

"It really shows the power of what Chevrolet and General Motors is able to do and bring to the market," said Steve Majoros.

Majoros is talking about the 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV. It's the newest model for the company.

He said the electric vehicle has what customers are looking for.

"Sufficient range, in this case over 200 miles, designed to be delivered at a price point under $30,000 after federal tax credits," Majoros said. "So it's a great equation that only Chevrolet has mastered."

Majoros is the marketing director for Chevrolet cars and crossovers. He said this cutting edge vehicle also has some unique safety features.

"You put the car in reverse, four different cameras give you a bird's eye view of the car," Majoros said. "So you get a complete 360, panoramic view of the car."

Chevrolet also revealed their 2016 version of the of the Malibu hybrid, which will reach local dealers soon.

But how soon until customers can buy their own Bolt EV?

"We start production of the Bolt EV later on this year so if you can hang on for a few months then you'll be able to buy that car this calendar year," Majoros said.
