LANSING, MI (WNEM) -

The production of a newly designed GMC Acadia will move from Lansing to Tennessee.

The Acadia is currently being produced at the Lansing Delta Township assembly plant. But General Motors announced at the North American International Auto Show that the production of the all-new 2017 SUV will be done at a facility in Spring Hill, TN.

The new Acadia goes on sale this spring, and will have globally sourced parts.

It’s not clear what impact the change will have on staffing here in Michigan. But GMC Spokesperson Rick Stina told TV5 "The guys in Lansing will have plenty of work. We're just rotating some vehicles around and we just can't make any announcements yet. But if I was working in Lansing now I would not be concerned."
