BAY COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

An off-duty Michigan State Police Lieutenant accused of seriously hurting a woman in a drunken driving crash pleaded no contest to operating while intoxicated causing serious injury.

Jason Teddy entered the plea on Monday and the court will now take the case under advisement.

According to family, Hilary Briggs was driving her motorcycle on May 2, 2015 on State Park Drive in Bangor Township. That's when they say she was rear-ended by a drunk driver.

Michigan State Police confirm that driver was a 20-year veteran of the Michigan State Police, Jason Teddy.  His blood alcohol content was .153.

By entering the no contest plea, Teddy did not admit to committing a crime.
