MID-MICHIGAN (WNEM) -

As of 6 p.m. Wednesday, Michigan Lottery players purchased nearly 7.4 million tickets for Wednesday night’s drawing. That’s an average of 614,000 tickets per hour.

Since Saturday’s drawing, Michigan residents have purchased 15.6 million tickets.

Lottery officials expect purchases will top 17.5 million tickets for the $1.5 billion prize.

If no one wins the jackpot for Wednesday, Saturday’s jackpot is estimated to be $2 billion with a cash option of $1.24 billion.
