FLINT, MI (WNEM) -

The Mass Transportation Authority is stepping up its efforts to help with distribution of water filters and supplies for residents of Flint.

It has developed bus stops at the city of Flint fire stations for easy access to those people who need to pick up water supplies.

Residents using the bus service for that purpose will not be charged a bus fare.

“The Flint community has been extremely supportive to the MTA,” Ed Benning, General Manager/CEO, said. “This is our opportunity to help residents of Flint. We are very proud of the efforts shown by our employees during this time.”

The MTA is also working with other groups to help with the delivery of water filters and supplies where needed.
