Hillary Clinton fires shots at Gov. Snyder for Flint water crisis

FLINT, MI (WNEM) -

Hillary Clinton fired shots at Gov. Rick Snyder during Sunday's democratic debate.

The presidential candidate called Flint's water crisis outrageous and said Snyder stood by idly while the people of Flint drank the lead-tainted water.

"We've had a city in the United States of America where the population, which is poor in many ways and majority African American, has been drinking and bathing in lead contaminated water. And the governor of that state acted as though he didn't really care," Clinton said.

After bringing down Snyder for his handling of the situation, Clinton made the argument she wants to be a president who cares about big problems like the water crisis in Flint.

"I've spent a lot of time over the last week being outraged by what's happening in Flint, Mich. and I think every single American should be outraged," Clinton said.

Snyder followed Clinton's comments with a tweet.
