TUSCOLA COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

A woman was arrested after lying to police about being robbed.

The woman, an employee at a bar on M-25 in Tuscola County’s Wisner Township, called police on Jan. 16 and reported a robbery.

She told Central Dispatch two men had robbed her of more than $300 at knife point, the Tuscola County Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies responded to the scene and the woman gave them a description of the suspects.

During the investigation the deputies discovered the woman provided a false report. The money was recovered and she was taken into custody, the sheriff’s office said.

Charges are being sought through the prosecutor’s office.
