Dr. Mona Hanna-Attisha was invited to the State of the State address in Lansing.

"It's important to be here. I want to hear it firsthand," Hanna-Attisha said. "I want to hear what the governor is going to say. I think the Flint issue is going to be play a very big role in the State of the State. I want to hear it from his mouth in terms of the investment he's going to make into our community."

She said she is disappointed by the state’s initial reaction, which was dismissing her findings and casting doubt.

Gov. Rick Snyder took a moment to applaud Hanna-Attisha’s efforts in Flint.

“I want to thank the professor, the doctor and the concerned pastors of Flint for bringing these issues to light,” Snyder said.

Hanna-Attisha was given standing applause during Snyder’s State of the State address.
