Koegel's: Company not connected to Flint water

Posted: Updated:

If you’re not from Michigan you probably don’t know what a Koegel’s hot dog is.

Koegel Meats is a meat processing company based out of Flint Township. With all of the national attention lately about Flint’s water issue, the company took to Facebook.

“Koegel Meats is NOT connected to the City of Flint Water System. We wish to assure our customers that the processing of Koegel Meat products has not been affected by the City of Flint water crisis,” the company said in a Facebook post.

The company went on to say they get their water from Flint Township, which is on a different water system than the city.

“In addition, we further filter water to a higher degree before using it in our recipes,” the post said.
