Mayor visits Washington D.C., won't blame governor for water crisis

WASHINGTON, DC (WNEM) -

Protesters in Lansing have been demanding change because of Flint's ongoing water crisis.

But when Mayor Karen Weaver spoke about it, she wasn't ready to put all the blame on the governor.

“The state is ultimately responsible. People ask, who do you blame? We know the buck stops with the governor but there is enough blame to go all the way around,” Weaver said. “I have decided to let the investigation show us who knew what when. I have to focus on getting people of Flint the resources that they need.”

Gov. Rick Snyder released his emails from the last two years shortly after 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. But activists said the state needs even more transparency.
