FLINT, MI (WNEM) -

EPA Region 5 Administrator Susan Hedman has offered her resignation over the Flint water crisis.

Hedman was the EPA official working with the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality.

The EPA announced her resignation in a press release on Thursday.

Along with that announcement, the EPA also issued a Safe Drinking Water Act Emergency Order.

The order includes a series of immediate steps to address the drinking water contamination in Flint. One of those steps is the release of information on lead levels in Flint's public water system. The EPA will publish those sampling results on its website.
