FLINT, MI (WNEM) -

A spoof on the Pure Michigan ads has surfaced on Youtube, highlighting some of Flint’s issues, including the water crisis.

In the video, posted on Jan. 12 by John Kerfoot, a voice-over takes you on a tour of the city. It touts new housing while showing a vacant and ramshackled home. Then moves on to the water issues plaguing the city.

“Perhaps the city’s best kept secret is the Flint River.” Says the narrator. “Because it’s not treated with any chemicals, Flint has the finest drinking water in the country.”

The video comes as local, state and federal officials work to bring resources and money to the area after dangerously high levels of lead were found in the water system.

“All credit goes to state officials, especially Gov. Rick Snyder. For spending the extra costs, for a lifetime of enrichment.”

The video ends with a line similar to the well-recognized Pure Michigan ads.

“The Flint River, Gov. Snyder and Michael Moore, they’re all pure Michigan.”
