Police: Man stole $30K worth of items from home

CLAYTON TOWNSHIP, MI (WNEM) -

A man has been arrested after allegedly stealing $30,000 worth of valuables from a residence.

The home invasion happened on Jan. 21 in the area of Miller and VanVleet in Clayton Township. That’s in Genesee County.

The incident set the resident’s house alarm off. Police responded to the scene and saw entry was obtained.

The homeowner returned to find $30,000 in items missing, police said.

During the investigation police developed a suspect and obtained a search warrant for his Mundy Township residence. During the search the suspect was taken into custody, police said.

Police said the suspect has an extensive criminal history.

He is being held on a $50,000 bond.
