Suspicious person going door-to-door about animal licenses

Posted: Updated:
FENTON, MI (WNEM) -

Watch out for a suspicious person knocking on doors in Mid-Michigan.

The Genesee County Board of Commissioners is reporting that a person, or multiple people, are going to people’s homes in the Fenton area and identifying themselves as Animal Control. They’re apparently asking about animal licenses, and are dressed professionally with some kind of identification.

These are not Animal Control employees.

A census will be done sometime after May 1. At that point Animal Control Officers will go house-to-house, but the employees will be wearing a mandated Animal Control uniform.

If someone approaches your home prior to May 1 about licenses, call 911. Or call Animal Control at (810) 732-1660.
