School receives golden football for player's Super Bowl appearances

Posted: Updated:

Super Bowl 50 is a little more than a week away and the NFL is celebrating in a unique way.

The NFL is sending a gold football to every high school that produced a player or coach who appeared in a Super Bowl.

That includes Bridgeport High School.

Bridgeport produced Monty Brown, a linebacker who played for the Buffalo Bills in the 1994 Super Bowl and New England Patriots in the 1997 Super Bowl.

Brown was at the school to see the new piece of memorabilia today.

"Well, I think it's something the kids if they come by and have that dream that they want to achieve whatever it happens to be but this is a kid who went to this school, a kid who walked through these same halls had a dream and he achieved it," Brown said.
