FLINT, MI (WNEM) -

A Flint man was charged with six felonies related to child abuse after two children were taken to the hospital.

Police were called to the residence on the 1500 block of Tacken Street in Flint on Jan. 31 for a medical emergency involving a child. The 1-year-old was transported to a nearby hospital where it was discovered his injuries were consistent with abuse, Flint police said.

The child was in critical condition and a coma.

The child had a skull fracture with brain issues, broken teeth, and multiple bruises, according to the Genesee County Prosecutor's Office.

The other children in the home, a 2-year-old and 4-year-old, were taken to the hospital to be checked for injuries. The 2-year-old also had injuries consistent with abuse, police said.

That child was also in critical condition with a  head injury and skull fracture, according to the prosecutor's office.

Cameron Wells, 27, was charged with two counts of assault with intent to murder, two counts of first degree child abuse, and two counts of firsts degree child abuse in the presence of another child.

Each felony is punishable by up to life in prison. Bond is set at $125,000 for each count.

Wells was dating the children's mother, according to the prosecutor's office.
