FLINT, MI (WNEM) -

Residents are trekking to Washington D.C. with the group Progress Michigan.

Flint families will share their stories with Congress about the situation in the Vehicle City.

A group of residents filled several buses for the trip.

Activists will be calling on Gov. Rick Snyder to testify under oath before a congressional committee.

“We've been poisoned by the water. We need our water to drink, brush our teeth, eat,” said activist Lorenzo Avery. “We need new pipes. Nobody is talking about the food. I wonder where McDonald’s is getting where they water coming from. They still serving pops, they still serving drinks. They in the city of Flint. Where are food coming from? How's it getting cleaned in these grocery stores? We eating poison.”

The National Action Network, Progress Michigan and a number of other groups helped organize and pay for the buses.
