MSP arrests a ‘most wanted’ sex offender

Posted: Updated:

Troopers from the Michigan State Police arrested a man previously convicted of criminal sexual conduct.

Adam Gord Garza was convicted in 1997. A parole warrant was issued for Garza who had failed to comply with reporting duties.

The arrest was made after MSP learned Garza had been stopped in Steuben County, Indiana.

Shiawassee County Prosecutor Deana Finnegan authorized the extradition of Garza back to Michigan.

The Michigan Sex Offenders Registration Act requires sex offenders to regularly report to their local law enforcement agency, sheriff’s office, or nearest state police to verify their address. Failure to do so carries a penalty of up to two years in prison.
