TUSCOLA COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

When Otis Hutchinson first heard a renegade bull was loose in his neighborhood, he thought it was a load of bull.

“Until I seen you I didn't really realize it was really running around,” Hutchinson said.

But it was true.

“I don't know what a cow would do on the loose, or a bull,” Hutchinson said. “It doesn't seem like it'd be that fast. You'd catch a thousand pound bull and go, hey that's kind of odd.”

A bull headed to slaughter this week ran away from Caro Packing House in Tuscola County.

But after several sightings, officials say the wayward animal actually made its way back to the slaughterhouse on Friday.

Until that happened, the missing bull was the talk of Caro.

“It's a small town, and it just entertains us. So, like, word spreads fast like, ‘don't hit the cow,’” said resident Mandy Ruppert.
