Police: Woman jumps from vehicle after husband threatens to kill her

ISABELLA COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

Mid-Michigan residents called 911 after they came across a woman screaming for help in the middle of the road.

The woman, a 52-year-old Mt. Pleasant resident, was screaming that her husband was going to kill her when the residents found her.

It happened on Feb. 4 in the area of W. Coleman Road near N. Coldwater Road in Isabella County’s Coldwater Township.

The victim’s husband was also at the scene when the residents arrived. He indicated to the residents his wife need medical attention, according to Michigan State Police.

Police said when the man became aware the residents were calling 911 he drove away.

The woman received injuries from the assault and from jumping out of the vehicle in an attempt to get away from her husband, police said.

She told police her husband punched her in the face and threatened to kill her, police said.

The extent of her injuries is unknown at this time. She was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

The suspect, a 45-year-old Mt. Pleasant man, was arrested later that day.

He has not officially been charged at this time.
