"When people are hurting you have to do everything you can," said presidential hopeful, Hillary Clinton.

Clinton gave a rousing speech at House of Prayer Missionary Church as she spoke about the Flint water crisis.

"Clean water is not optional, my friends, it is not a luxury,” Clinton said. “I said weeks ago, what if it what happened in Flint happened in Gross Pointe or Bloomfield Hills. I think we all know we would have had a solution yesterday."

Words like that struck a nerve many in attendance.

"She's concerned about Flint and the problems that we are having with our water," said Maria Lee.

The former Secretary of State vowed to help find a solution to the Flint water crisis.

"It is just heart breaking to think about, that what's happening here is happening to any child anywhere," Clinton said.

Clinton's impromptu rally before a packed congregation drew rave reviews.

"I think she just gave a very heart felt presence that people in Flint and it gave them a lot courage and inspiration," said Rosemary Crean, a Clinton supporter.

TV5 got a chance to talk one-on-one with Clinton about what she would do to help Flint.

"Of course you have to have a plan and a strategy and all of that but first you’ve got to get there and really connect listen to what's going on in people's lives," Clinton said.

Clinton said that was the reason she was in Flint on Sunday.

“I want to be your backup and make sure that we don't get lost in your efforts because the media could move on and we are not going to let that happen," Clinton said.
