BAY CITY, MI (WNEM) -

Ashley Fikes got the surprise of her life when her boyfriend Steve Hensley proposed to her during a Super Bowl commercial on TV5.

"I'm still kind of shocked. I mean it hasn’t sank in yet but I'm so looking forward to planning for a wedding and I keep starring at my ring and I keep watching those videos over and over again," Fikes said.

A day later, Fikes and Hensley are still on cloud nine.

"Not too many people can say they proposed during halftime of the Super Bowl it was absolutely amazing," Hensley said.

Not only was Fikes surprised to see her fiance on TV last night, but so were her co-workers.

They were all watching the Super Bowl and learned at the same time that Fikes would be coming into work today with a shiny new diamond on her left hand.

"I heard Steve's voice and thought, wow that sounds like Steve, and looked and said wow that is Steve. And I'm texting them as soon as it was over did you say yes? We were so excited," said Jean Rookerdamic, branch manager at Community State Bank.

The happy couple is looking forward to planning their wedding. And they plan to look back on those special 30 seconds again and again for the rest of their lives

"It was so perfect. He did such a good job," Fikes said.
