SANILAC COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

Two men were arrested in connection to an armed robbery and assault.

The incident took place on Feb. 3 in Sanilac County’s Evergreen Township.

An 18-year-old woman met one of the suspects online and invited him to her home. While he was there he physically attacked her, Michigan State Police said.

Shortly after the attack, the second suspect arrived to the house and assisted in the assault and robbery, police said.

After the suspects left the victim told her parents about the incident and they called 911.

She was transported to a nearby hospital where she was treated for her injuries.

Police believed the incident was related to similar incidents that happened in Oakland and Macomb counties.

MSP requested assistance in the investigation from the MSP Fifth District Fugitive Team and both of the suspects were arrested in Battle Creek on Feb. 5, police said.

A 21-year-old Troy man was named the main suspect. He was arrested on outstanding warrants and is lodged at the Oakland County Jail.

A 28-year-old Madison Heights man was named the accomplice. He is lodged at the Sanilac County Jail.

Their names are being withheld until they are arraigned.
