Two water breaks that caused reduced or no water for some residents have been repaired, and after two days, the boil advisory has been lifted.

A large water transmission line adjacent to Dort Highway broke on Tuesday, along with a water line on Dupont Road. That closed the ramp from SB I-475 to Dort Highway. The line was re-pressurized on Feb. 9.

Utilities Administrator Michael Glasgow said, "the first set of bacteria testing results from Wednesday’s sampling were clean, and the second set of results collected yesterday will be official this afternoon. Based on results of bacteria testing and the chlorine residual monitoring, I anticipate lifting the boil water notice later this afternoon."

The Joint Information Center said previously installed water filters are still safe to use, after extensive testing reveal no bacteria in the water supply before or after the repair of the water main break.

The boil advisory was a precautionary measure because of the loss of pressure in the water system.
