FLINT, MI (WNEM) -

Due to the drop in water pressure, the city of Flint is encouraging residents to boil their filtered water.

As a precautionary measure, residents who are running cold water through faucet-mounted filters should boil the water after it is filtered.

The concern comes from trapped air and loose sediment in the water lines from the water main break near Dort Highway.

Anyone with questions or concerns can contact the City of Flint Water Department at 810-766-7202. You can also get information on lowering the risk of infection from bacteria by calling the EPA's Safe Drinking Water hotline at 1-800-426-4791.

Any addresses inside the shaded area are part of the precautionary boil advisory.
