LANSING, MI (WNEM) -

Protesters gathered in the Capitol Rotunda outside the Governor's Office while Gov. Snyder presented his proposed 2017 budget.

Dozens of people chanted: “Hey-Ho-Snyder's-got-to-go!” and "Whose lives matter? Flint's lives matter!" and could sometimes be heard during the presentation.

Perhaps the most vocal of the group was Lorenzo Avery. He lead the raucous crowd echoing their disdain for the governor.

"We've been poisoned. We need justice," Avery said. "He needs to be held accountable."

At one point, the governor walked by, just steps away from the demonstrators.

Avery said his group won't stop until clean water is flowing through the taps in Flint.

"You can look at the results and you can tell want we've been through and what we're going through," Avery said. "And this problem needs to be fixed and I'm just wondering what's the solution?"
