IOSCO COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

The body of a missing woman was discovered in the woods on Feb. 17.

Angela Bartman was last seen on Feb. 9. She left at 3 p.m. to get a pop from a gas station in National City, that’s in Iosco County, and never returned.

The 33-year-old had medical problems and was without her medications. She was driving a dark blue Jeep Compass.

A snowmobiler called Iosco County 911 about 5:11 p.m. on Feb. 17 to report an abandoned vehicle in the Huron National Forest. The caller saw the vehicle about 1:30 a.m. that day.

Troopers from the Michigan State Police responded to the call and discovered the vehicle was the one Bartman was reported to be driving. The vehicle was stuck in the snow, police said.

Additional troopers and canine units were called to the Huron National Forest to search for Bartman.

After several hours Bartman's body was discovered in the forest, police said.

Media outlets from the Detroit area report that Barman is originally from Ferndale.
