Authorities have released the name of a man who died after falling through ice while fishing on a private pond in Clinton County.

Rescuers were called to a residence in Victor Township on Saturday. One man was pulled from the pond and another man was later located and pronounced dead at the scene. The Lansing State Journal reports the dead man is identified as 54-year-old Jeffrey Dean Pearson.

Officials say the first man pulled the pond, who is 56, was taken to a hospital and released.

Later on Saturday, a man and his dog were pulled from a pond in Charlotte after falling through the ice.

Meanwhile, The Muskegon Chronicle reports a fisherman was rescued Sunday morning after falling through ice on Little Black Lake in western Michigan.
