It's been a rough plowing season for Dario Murillo and The Wash Boys.

"It's been up and down," Murillo said.

The local company depends on getting a decent snowfall during the winter months to make a paycheck.

That's why the impending snow storm has Murillo seeing green.

"We're looking for anywhere from 24 hours to 48 hours possibly depending on how the snow comes down and where it ends," Murillo said. "It's going to be an interesting one for us and everybody is going to be pretty happy to get some hours in."

But it's not all smiles for everybody.

Consumers Energy is busily preparing for prolonged power outages. They have their crews on standby.

"We'll be out there as long as it's safe, repairing and restoring service, pretty much around the clock," said spokeswoman Deb Dodd.

Dodd said the utility has extra crews on standby.

"It's sort of an all hands on deck scenario right now, we're just waiting to see where the weather hits and where we need to deploy employees," Dodd said.

While Murillo doesn't want to see any sort of bad damage, he said this storm couldn't come at a better time.

"Everybody's hurting just trying to get some cash into the business," Murillo said.
