GENESEE COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

John Daly is director of the Genesee County Road Commission. He said his crews have a good handle on the storm, thanks in large part to early preparations and temperatures in the low 30s.

"The battle is going well," Daly said.

These are the best conditions for salt to work in. As far as resources go, right now it's all hands on deck.

"We've got 37 vehicles. They're out and about right now conducting snow and ice removal operations," Daly said.

Of course, our First Warn Five weather team said the storm isn't close to being over yet. That means more work for Daly's staff.

Daly said to remember don't crowd the plow.

"Give us room. Allow at least 50 yards between you and the plow. Because the speed of that plow truck especially with wet snow can change significantly very, very fast," Daly said.

Despite the heavy snow, Daly is confident all roads will be cleared soon after the winter storm leaves its mark in Genesee County.

"I would expect the trunk lines, the primary road systems, the section line locals and most of the locals to be clear by tomorrow afternoon," Daly said.
