FLINT, Mich. (AP) -

Hundreds of schools are closed across Michigan as snow from a winter storm continues into a second day, leaving hazardous driving conditions in its wake.

The National Weather Service received reports of above 11 inches of snow in Marshall, 10 inches near Grand Rapids and up to 10 inches near Flint and in Lapeer. About 9 inches was reported in Clarkston and near Saginaw, with lower totals elsewhere.

An inch or two is forecast Thursday in places.

Schools are closed in many communities across the Lower Peninsula, including all Detroit public schools. Schools in Oakland, Washtenaw, Livingston, St. Clair and Lapeer counties were among those closed in southeastern Michigan. There's a long list of closings in western Michigan as well.

Some districts were closed a day earlier amid the snow.
