ATV hits snow drift, throws 2 people

SANILAC COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

An ATV hit a snow drift causing the driver to lose control and throw two people off.

It happened Feb. 25 at 2:30 p.m. on Applegate Road near State Road in Sanilac County’s Sanilac Township.

According to Sheriff’s Deputies, a 2016 Yamaha Grizzly ATV driven by a 49-year-old male from Applegate was traveling west on Applegate Road with a 47-year-old female passenger riding on the back.

The four-wheeler hit the drift, throwing both people.

The driver wasn’t hurt. The passenger was taken by EMS, but ended up signing off treatment before getting to the hospital.

Both people were wearing helmets, alcohol was not a factor.
