FLINT, MI (WNEM) -

A former Marine who has spent the last year remodeling a local home finally received the keys to start moving in.

The Genesee County Habitat for Humanity teamed up with GM to help George Grundy refurbish his Court Street home in Flint.

Grundy plans to operate a photo and video business out of his 100-year-old home.

“It makes me feel happy because this will be my first home,” Grundy said. “Been in apartments, been traveling all over the world in the military. So I'm pretty happy about this.”

GM Cares volunteers have been helping Grundy work on the home as part of a general motors foundation grant of $1 million to go towards 11 projects.
