FLINT, MI (WNEM) -

A Flint mother is taking legal action on behalf of her four children in the wake of the Flint water crisis.

Lee-Anne Walters filed a lawsuit in the Circuit Court of Genesee County for each of her children who allegedly suffered lead poisoning because of the city’s water.

At the same time, the law firms representing her, Levy Konigsberg LLP and Robinson Carter & Crawford PLLC, simultaneously filed eight other lawsuits for other Flint parents on behalf of their children who also allegedly suffered lead poisoning.

The suits name six different corporate entities that lawyers argue had responsibilities in regards to the treatment, monitoring and safety of the water. Three individual government, or former government employees are also named, although those names were not readily available to us.

Attorney Corey Stern said “We are prepared to file as many individual cases for children in Flint as there are children in this City who have been lead poisoned. The number of children harmed should not deprive each child of his or her individual day in Court.”
