Lisa Taylor tried to describe what's it's been like to have two coaches die unexpectedly, just days apart.

"This is a tough week. It's a very tough week," Taylor said.

Taylor is the athletic director for Clio Schools. On Tuesday, the junior varsity boys basketball coach, Tim Hibbard died while using his snow blower.

A few days earlier, Lyndsey Piesko, a volunteer volleyball coach died from what is only being described as a medical condition.

"We have a volleyball program. You know we have some athletes shaken up," Taylor said. "You know same thing with Coach Hibb. You know we're at the end of basketball season right now and it has been a very difficult week."

Varsity basketball coach Joe Jacobs is at a loss for words.

"Shocking. You don't want to believe it necessarily," Jacobs said.

Jacobs said Hibbard will be missed by everyone he touched.

"He was a person that loved everybody, loved Clio and the community," Jacobs said.

Head volleyball coach Sandy Catalano said she can't accept the fact that Piesko is gone.

"She was only 29-years-old and had a long life ahead of her yet so it's hard," Catalano said.

Catalano called Piesko a pillar of the volleyball program.

"She was just a beautiful person inside. She could light up a room," Catalano said.

The family said at Friday's funeral, every student that Piesko coached will receive a button with Piesko’s picture on it that says “keep the mission alive.”

"I'd like to send hugs to the kids at Clio and to the staff. Because I know that this is a lot to digest," said Piesko’s aunt, Sandy Piesko.

Sandy Piesko said her family will never be the same without her.

"Lyndsey was such a bright light to so many different people," Sandy Piesko said.

Taylor said she'll be at Thursday's game against Owosso.

Hibbard always had his spot in the gym during a contest, and Taylor said she can't imagine this place without her life-long friend.

"I'm not prepared to think about it yet," Taylor said.
