DETROIT (WNEM) -

The race for the White House is taking center stage right in Detroit on Thursday night.

The candidates, four of them, including Donald Trump, Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz, and John Kasich will take the stage in the Fox Theatre. The venue is also expected to play host outside to protesters, angry about the water crisis up Interstate 75 in Flint and wage inequality issues in Flint and Detroit.

That doesn't seem to be bothering the Republican National Committee too much though who is hoping to convince them that it's their nominee who will work to fix these problems.

“Tonight they should watch and see all of our candidates have to offer you are going to see a wide range of topics discussed,” said Lindsay Walters, Republican National Committee. “Every poll is showing the American people want a new direction and only our candidates can out the country back on track on both domestic and foreign issues.”
