DETROIT (WNEM) -

Anger, frustration, and rage filled the streets of Detroit on Thursday night.

As Republicans duked it out inside the Fox Theatre, vying for the GOP nomination protesters gathered outside.

They were very angry, gathered against the Fox Theatre, protesting anything from what the candidates have said, to the Flint water crisis.

Detroit pastor Maurice Hardwick one of the hundreds of demonstrators.

"They call out everybody else. They called out El Chapo. Call out El Snyder! Call out the ones who poisoned the kids and the people of Flint," Hardwick said.

He's upset about the ongoing water crisis in Flint and wants the Republican presidential candidates to put more focus on it.

Set back from the throng of demonstrators was Robert Bannell.

The supporter of Democrat Bernie Sanders wasn't so keen on what he calls the hatefulness he witnessed.

"We need to put someone in office who is going to sit there and fight for Americans," Bannell said.

Just yards away from them, Michigan House Speaker Kevin Cotter, responded to the criticism being heaped on the Republican Party.

"I know that there's frustration and we're going to address it," Cotter said.

But it's going to be hard to satisfy these demonstrators, clearly outraged and wanting change.
