Everything is flattering in the Spin Room.

This is the room where some big time Democrats are making themselves available before the debate.

The spin is the Democrats are talking about this national issue in the city where it's all playing out.

Media from across the state and nation are covering the debate.

"Flint has certainly brought this issue to a head. People have known for a long time that there's these old aging pipes all over the country," said Jonathan Oosting, Detroit News. "But Flint could certainly be an impetus to actually deliver some policies on that, especially when you see it becoming a top issue in a presidential campaign."

Marissa Pierce, Phasion Phish, said the debate could have a big impact on Michigan’s primary.

"Michigan is always an important state in a presidential election. You've got to pretty much win Michigan, Ohio, Florida, those bigger states, so I think Michigan is always important, and this election is definitely a turning point for the country," Pierce said.

CNN transformed the UM-Flint recreation center into media headquarters, making the gym into the second most important place for the debate in Flint.
