FLINT, MI (WNEM) -

Donald Trump sailed to an easy win in Tuesday’s Michigan primary. He fended off strong attacks from his rivals Ted Cruz, John Kasich and Marco Rubio.

Michael Moon said, those attacks couldn’t slow down Trump.

"I'm not shocked, I mean Mr. Trump has been on a roll for quite some time," Moon said.

Moon is the chairman for the Genesee County Republican Party and said he can see why Trump is winning.

"People are sick of the old school way of doing things because they're not working," Moon said.

Trump dominated in Mid-Michigan:

  • Genesee County: 42 percent
  • Saginaw County: 39 percent
  • Bay County: 41 percent
  • Midland County: 28 percent
    • Cruz won with 33 percent

Moon said he believes his fellow Republicans will back Trump if he emerges as the party's nominee for president.

"I see a lot of people actually starting to unify," Moon said. "I know a lot of Cruz supporters that are like, hey if Donald is our guy at the end we'll support him. I wasn't hearing that a few weeks ago."
