The Flint NAACP's 35th Annual Freedom Dinner takes place on Saturday, March 12.

This year’s theme is "Maximizing the Power of Voting; Our Vote Matters!"

It will honor NAACP scholarship awardees and community leaders committed to the advocacy of civil rights in Flint and the Genesee County community.

Nina Turner, former Ohio State Senator and current professor of history at Cuyahoga Community College will be the keynote speaker for the benefit dinner.

It takes place at Riverfront Banquet Center in Flint, but the event is already full.

Our own Ronnie Duncan will serve as emcee.
