FLINT, MI (WNEM) -

Jeremy Sawyers knows all about dodging potholes on the streets of his hometown.

"Absolutely, it's things you got to do living in this city," Sawyers said.

He had no shortage of things to say about the craters he encounters.

"Hey need to start putting this money that we getting into fixing these streets," Sawyers said.

That's a popular request this time of year in Genesee County's biggest city.

Just driving through some of these potholes in Flint you really have to avoid stuff.

City Councilman Wantwaz Davis said his district is hit the hardest when it comes to potholes.

"That's the only thing  I can do is put in a request, that is about as much as I can do especially when we overstate over sight," Davis said.

Davis understands the delays, however he wants city officials to pick up the pace on getting them filled especially on the streets of the 5th ward, the area he represents.

"We've been neglected for a long time. There is money that comes in and we should be able to fix through transportation through DPW," Davis said.
