SAGINAW COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

As the roads thaw out, so do the potholes.

"We have a variety of issues that we're addressing," said Dennis Borchard.

Borchard is the Saginaw County Road Commission director.

“Right now it’s the thaw,” Borchard said. “We have road break up we have culvert failures, drainage issues."

Borchard said one of the biggest issues in Saginaw County are roads failing, like on Chipping Norton Street in Saginaw Township.

With snow and ice melting, there are many areas around town that need some fixing.

Borchard said his road construction crews have already been hitting the streets, even before the snow stopped falling.

Borchard said residents should report any potholes directly to their local government or the Saginaw County Road Commission.
